Hello 2025
I've been waiting for you.
Hello everyone — I hope you’ve had an absolute blast of a festive period, whether that meant relaxing, catching up with family, celebrating, or some mix of the three. Hopefully you’ve been able to stave off winter illnesses (more than I can say for myself and family!) and you’re looking forward to the days getting a bit brighter and warmer. I know I am.
So what’s on the docket for 2025? Well, this is going to be a fun year. I’ve got two books coming out this year, with all the associated publicity and podcasts and press and panels that come with that. I just did a lovely interview for SFX Magazine yesterday for a double-page spread feature they are doing on me, which is lovely.
So what are the books? Well, there’s Dissolution coming in March, with some great early buzz and reviews, and then Extremity out later this year in September!
I’m delighted to also say, for those of you who like my books, that I’ll have (at least) two books being released in 2026 as well! Yes, you heard right. We just put the final touches on the US deal (the UK one had been wrapped up a while ago) on EXHUMATION before the year ended, which is my next novel with Riverhead (US) / Voyager (UK), and then I’ve got a follow-up project with Tor coming too. Both of which are already written and submitted to publishers, so I’m ahead of the game and already working on the next thing. More on all that at another point, I think!
I’m hoping to complete at least another novel and a novella this year, but maybe more. We shall see. That’s not to mention the possible side-project in contemporary crime that I’m playing around with and some other potential irons in the fire…
Okay, okay, calm down Binge. It’s still 2025. What’s happening this year?
DISSOLUTION
I was thrilled to see Dissolution make Goodreads’ Most Anticipated ‘Big Books’ of 2025, and along a bunch of fantastic other novels in Esquire Magazine’s ‘The 20 Most Anticipated Books of 2025’. as well as on various other most anticipated lists in places like Screenrant, Nerd Daily, WinterIsComing, Fantasy Hive, and more. It’s getting some fantastic early reviews and I really people continue to love it. It’s a real step up from Ascension, in many ways, and I think people are starting to see that.
If you’d love to get your hands on an early copy, I’d love to send TWO physical advanced reader copies to people who subscribe to this newsletter. Rather than just pull the list from everyone in the newsletter (some might have already got a copy or read it, or not want to read it!), I’m going to say if you want an ARC, please input your name and contact email into this form and I’ll randomly pull two from the list a week after this goes out. If your name gets pulled, I’ll be in contact for an address to send it your way!
In my last newsletter, I announced the fantastic deal with Temple Hill Entertainment, Chronology Entertainment, and Sony Columbia Pictures. That’s moving along, and Sony commenced officially Eric Heisserer to write the script in December so he’s plugging away at that and I can’t wait to see what that looks like when he’s done!
With the release date approaching in March, I’ve paired up with the wonderful Argonaut Books in Edinburgh to throw a bit of a launch party. This, hopefully, will be a party with a bit of a difference. I’m not really interested in doing a Q&A or a reading or any of that. It’ll be a big shindig with music and drinks and collaborative art events and games and all of that stuff.
Most importantly, however, the whole event is in support of the wonderful Alzheimer’s Scotland, a charity that supports a wide range of dementia-affected patients and families across the country. All the proceeds from the tickets will go to them, as will the proceeds from other events like a literary raffle with signed and special edition books from a wide range of authors, as well as agent 121s, and other things donated from local Edinburgh businesses like Druid Candles. If you’re in Edinburgh, or are able to get to Edinburgh, I’d absolutely love to have you along! Details and tickets here.
That’s it from me for now. I might do a roundup post around publication of DISSOLUTION, which will be at the end of March so a little sooner than quarterly, but then probably not another one until the summer!
Have a great couple of months, everyone!
